Prelim Lighting/Shading
Modeling
Concept
A still life is the most basic study every traditional artist does on their journey in the creative world. It is the simplest way to understand lighting, proportion, shading, color, and perspective. I used to think that it was very boring to draw such mundane objects with no movement or gesture to them. But I have realized that there is a lot of beauty in the stillness. Proper lighting, textures, and composition can give an object the dramatism, life, and personality we see in any living thing. As a way to focus on my lighting and shading skills, I am going to create a still life in CG.
